Many people do not trust unknown callers and text messages, but voicemail provides you with an opportunity to check out a phone number before calling back – and a contact tracer is someone you really should call back.
More than ever, now is the time to set up (and regularly check) your voicemail.
“At a time when Americans are bombarded with more than 58 billion robocalls a year, and fraudsters are using the coronavirus to target potential victims in phone calls and text messages, many people are reluctant to field unexpected calls from unknown numbers.
Also, “We’re hearing more and more from local health departments that have ramped up contact tracing [that people are] really reluctant to provide information,” but the pandemic will inevitably continue for much longer if the public does not participate in contact tracing and testing.
